Recap: Johnson Atomsmashers vs. Liberty County Panthers

The Johnson Atomsmashers waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They had just enough and edged Liberty County out 36-33. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Johnson has scored all season.

Johnson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Favion Kirkwood, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kadin Davis, who scored seven points along with three steals.

Johnson is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Liberty County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.

Johnson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hart County at 1:00 p.m. on January 15th. Hart County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Johnson is ranked 105th). Liberty County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wayne County at 3:30 p.m. on January 13th.
