Baseball Recap: New Braunfels Thunder Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but New Braunfels Thunder ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Hill Country Christian Rams. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Homeschool.

Paxton Lerma was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Lerma wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Posey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

New Braunfels Thunder's record is now 15-9-1. As for Hill Country Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12-1 record this season.

New Braunfels Thunder will take on Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hill Country Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
