Volleyball Recap: Poland Seminary Falls Despite Big Games from Avery Jakubovic and Isabel Greco

If Poland Seminary was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of McKinley on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the South Range Raiders on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

While Poland Seminary ultimately came up short, they really made South Range work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-13, 25-16.

Isabel Greco and Avery Jakubovic certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Greco had 12 digs, eight kills, and two blocks, while Jakubovic had 18 digs and one assist. Greco has been hot, having posted seven or more kills the last five times she's played.

Poland Seminary now has a losing record of 1-2. As for South Range, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Poland Seminary will take on Canfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Range, they will challenge Boardman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
