Baseball Recap: Calallen Extends Home Winning Streak to 20

Calallen put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Almeta Crawford Chargers with a sharp 8-1 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Collier Carroll tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Drayson Gamez was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Quinn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Calallen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in four consecutive games.

Calallen pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Almeta Crawford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3-2.
