Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Union Find Success

Fairfield Union lost to Jackson back in October of 2020, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Falcons came out on top against the Ironman/Ironladies by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

The victory didn't come easy: Jackson scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 13-25, 25-21.

Molly Brown paced Fairfield Union's offense, picking up 23 kills. Brown got some help from Laynie Price and her 33 assists. Finally, Annesley Leith kept Fairfield Union's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Despite the loss, Jackson still got an impressive performance from Kaylin Sheppard, who had 42 digs and one assist. Sheppard has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Fairfield Union's win bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Jackson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Fairfield Union will challenge Circleville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
