Softball Recap: Troy Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Troy Christian had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Dayton Christian WARRIORS 19-8 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Ella Dersham was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Troy Christian got a massive performance out of Izzy Lutz, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most runs Lutz has posted since back in April of 2024. Izzy Guerrero was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Troy Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .696. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-18. As for Dayton Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
