Baseball Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tyler, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Red Devils fell just short of the Knights by a score of 10-8 on Thursday. The Red Devils have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Landon Church made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Calhoun is 6-3 when Church posts two or more runs, but 5-13 otherwise. Brayden Phillips was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

Calhoun's record now sits at 11-16. As for Tyler, they pushed their record up to 11-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Calhoun will host Roane County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tyler, they will head out to square off against River at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pilots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
