Basketball Recap: Donteze Joy Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ripley

Westview proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 31) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 victory over the Ripley Tigers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donteze Joy, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. Joy is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Miles Brown was another key player, going 6-for-12 on his way to 14 points.

Westview's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9. As for Ripley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14.

Westview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-64 victory against Peabody on the 25th. Ripley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
