Baseball Recap: Poudre's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Poudre barely beat Monarch the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Impalas were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Coyotes on Monday. The game was the first time the Impalas have beaten the Coyotes on their field since April 28, 2018.

Brett Lamb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Poudre: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 8-10 otherwise. Lamb was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Chase Barrett and Brady Santillanes did most of the damage at the plate: Barrett went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Santillanes went 3-for-5 with three runs and one double. Poudre is undefeated when Barrett posts three or more hits, but 9-11 otherwise. Jackson Elser was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Poudre kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Poudre's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-11. As for Monarch, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

As of now, neither Poudre nor the Coyotes have any future games scheduled.
