Basketball Recap: Fair Play Comes Up Short

Fair Play was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The matchup between them and the New Covenant Academy Warriors didn't end well, with the Fair Play Hornets falling 63-48. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Fair Play's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for New Covenant Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Fair Play will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hurley at 5:30 p.m. on January 14, 2025. As for New Covenant Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Early at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. New Covenant Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Early likes a good challenge.
