Baseball Recap: Lone Oak Comes Up Short

Lone Oak lost to Prairiland back in March of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Buffaloes lost 12-2 to the Patriots. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lone Oak saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Mercer, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That hit was Mercer's first of the season.

Lone Oak's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Prairiland, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lone Oak will take on rival Mount Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Prairiland is set to challenge their familiar foe Winnsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
