Basketball Recap: Hanover Comes Up Short

Hanover was the 52-20 winner over Derryfield when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hanover Bears lost to the Derryfield Cougars on the road by a 58-39 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Cougars are ranked 18th).

This is the second loss in a row for Hanover and nudges their season record down to 1-10. As for Derryfield, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanover will take on Kennett at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Derryfield, they will face off against Kingswood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Derryfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
