Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask School of the Ozarks). They put the hurt on the Niangua Cardinals with a sharp 72-49 win on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their 28-point performance the game before.
Timba Saffle had an outrageously good game as he posted 20 points along with five assists and five steals. He is becoming a predictor of School of the Ozarks' success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 2-1 (and 3-15 when he doesn't). Briggs Wilhoit also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
School of the Ozarks smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-16. As for Niangua, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-22-1 record this season.
