Basketball Game Preview: Arapahoe Warriors vs. Alma Cardinals

The Arapahoe Warriors will face off against the Alma Cardinals at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arapahoe has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 27.

Arapahoe is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Axtell on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Arapahoe lost 51-29 to Axtell.

Meanwhile, Alma didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hitchcock County on Friday, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Alma's win came from a few key players Arapahoe will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tucker Biskup, who went 6 for 11 en route to 13 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Faimon, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points along with five boards and three steals.

Alma pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Arapahoe, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Arapahoe didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Alma in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory. Will Arapahoe repeat their success, or does Alma have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
