Football Recap: Tokay Takes a Loss

Tokay suffered their biggest defeat since September 20, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by the Chavez Titans and fell 55-27. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Titans from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Tokay had strong showings from Jayden Barba, who threw for 257 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and Gael Garcia, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Garcia showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 53 yards.

Chavez found their leader in sophomore Elijah Walker, who threw for 408 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Thanks to that big game, Walker is now up to 16 passing touchdowns on the season. Chavez's leading receiver Jackson Batch was Walker's top target yet again, picking up 160 receiving yards and three scores.

Tokay's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Chavez, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 5-0.

Tokay has already played their next matchup (against Bear Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Chavez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 61-0 win against Franklin on the 26th.
