Softball Recap: Mars Takes a Loss

Mars was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 12-3 to the Plum Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fightin' Planets of the 21-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2017.

Abby Robinson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season.

Mars' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Plum, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mars will host Penn Hills at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Plum, they will take on Shaler Area at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
