Baseball Game Preview: Jensen Beach Falcons vs. True North Classical Academy Titans

The Jensen Beach Falcons will square off against the True North Classical Academy Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Jensen Beach came into their game last Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-2 to University Christian.

Jensen Beach got a good showing from Blake Curatola, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Curatola a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Jensen Beach saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Polhemus, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Polhemus a new career-high.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, True North Classical Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 6-2 to Martin County.

William Foss was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mikey Cuenca was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Garcia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Jensen Beach has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. True North Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
