Baseball Recap: Palo Alto Has No Trouble Against Milpitas

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Palo Alto ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Milpitas Trojans as they made off with an 8-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.

Cormac White tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off ten hits (and only one walk). Palo Alto is 2-1 when White allows two or fewer earned runs, but 7-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Coco Vonderhaar, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Palo Alto: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 6-10 otherwise. Carter Bader was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Palo Alto's record now sits at 9-11. As for Milpitas, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
