It was a good run, but Gilbert Classical Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Benjamin Franklin Chargers.

While Gilbert Classical Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Ethan Wilke and Jayden Yates, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Jotham Demellow and his 26 assists. Yates was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Gilbert Classical Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 13-4. As for Benjamin Franklin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.

Looking ahead, Gilbert Classical Academy will challenge ALA - Ironwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Benjamin Franklin, they will square off against Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
