Recap: East Ridge Warriors vs. Belfry Pirates
The East Ridge Warriors's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They managed a 69-65 victory over Belfry. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Belfry saw an underclassman step up: Zade Rash scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Rash's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Makaden Maynard was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
East Ridge's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Belfry, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Ridge will take on Pikeville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pikeville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Ridge in Kentucky (Pikeville is ranked 95th, while East Ridge is ranked 227th). As for Belfry, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Man at 7:30 p.m.
