Volleyball Recap: Bryant Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Bryant's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Jonesboro Hurricane 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Hurricane back in September, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-20, 28-26.

Taylor Lease paced Bryant's offense, picking up nine kills. Lease were helped by Livi Smith and Brooklyn Fischer, who contributed 17 assists each.

When it comes to explaining why Jonesboro lost, don't look at Erynn Waleszonia. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and two assists. D'Miyaah Wright also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Bryant's victory ended a seven-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-12-3. As for Jonesboro, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7-1.

Looking ahead, Bryant will welcome Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jonesboro, they will head out to take on Westside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
