Basketball Recap: Patterson Institute Lions vs. Fort Hancock Mustangs
Patterson Institute kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 64-35 loss at the hands of the Fort Hancock Mustangs. The Lions' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it ten in a row dating back to last season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Hancock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaid Hermosillo, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Hernandez, who went 7 for 17 en route to 19 points plus six rebounds and three steals.
Patterson Institute will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harmony School of Innovation at 6:30 p.m. on December 17th. As for Fort Hancock, they will square off against Jesus Chapel at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
