Volleyball Recap: Mira Mesa Comes Up Short

Mira Mesa saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vista Murrieta Broncos.

Kalilea Popperwill paced Mira Mesa's offense, picking up four kills. Popperwill got some help from Kanaiya Parham and her four assists. Parham was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Mira Mesa has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season. As for Vista Murrieta, their victory bumped their record up to 12-18.

Mira Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Brawley on the 11th. As for Vista Murrieta, they will take on Temecula Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
