Softball Recap: Eldred's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Eldred had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Livingston Manor Wildcats 14-2 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellowjackets also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Eldred got a massive performance out of Olivia Gonzalez, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Gonzalez also put up a stolen base, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Furler, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Eldred always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Eldred's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Livingston Manor, their record now sits at an identical 2-5.

Coming up, Eldred will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Livingston Manor, they will head out on the road to face off against Chapel Field Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
