Football Game Preview: James M. Coughlin vs. Hazleton

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Hazleton. On Friday they will take on James M. Coughlin at 7:00 PM. Hazleton don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.

Hazleton made easy work of Scranton last Friday and carried off a 38-14 victory. Among those leading the charge for Hazleton was senior Ryan Wolk, who passed for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Wolk's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past five games.

Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for James M. Coughlin, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to eight. They took a serious blow against North Pocono, falling 0-42. James M. Coughlin were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-21.

Hazleton's win lifted them to 3-5 while James M. Coughlin's loss dropped them down to 0-8. We'll see if Hazleton's success rolls on or if James M. Coughlin are able to steal their positive momentum.
