Softball Recap: Byram Hills Has No Trouble Against Yonkers

Byram Hills lost to Yonkers back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 24-12 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Izzie Cooper and Maeve Rippy did most of the damage at the plate: Cooper went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Rippy went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Pozzi, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs.

Byram Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yonkers only posted an OBP of .488.

Byram Hills' victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Yonkers, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Byram Hills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 20-1 defeat against Harrison on the 29th. As for Yonkers, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 30-15 win against Riverside on the 28th.
