Softball Recap: North East Has No Trouble Against Perryville

North East won the last time they faced Perryville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Indians blew past the Panthers 10-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Jazmyn Martin made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Taylor Zellner was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Aubrey Hash also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

North East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

North East now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Perryville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. North East will challenge rival Elkton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Perryville is set to face off against their familiar foe Bel Air on Thursday.
