Football Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lakeland can now relate to. They were beaten by the Seminole Ridge Hawks 53-0 on Wednesday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Dreadnaughts were not able to get on the board.

Aubrey Fogel produced another solid performance throwing for 274 yards and six touchdowns while completing 83.3% of her passes for Seminole Ridge. The dominant performance also gave Fogel a new career-high in passer rating (163.2).

Lakeland moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Seminole Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Lakeland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seminole Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 33-0 win against Martin County on the 28th.
