Basketball Recap: Temple Wildcats vs. Harlan Hawks
Temple was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Harlan Hawks 54-16.
Temple got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Ka'Myhria Freeman and Jazaeah Canady, who each put up four points. Canady also led the team in rebounds with five. Tierney Perkins took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Leading Harlan to victory were Jaliyah Graham and Amari Hill. Graham went 7-for-10 to rack up 15 points and four steals, while Hill almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards. What's more, Graham also posted a 70% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaitlin Mendoza, who posted five points and five rebounds.
Temple's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Harlan, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.
Temple has already played their next matchup, a 33-23 loss against Rockwall on the 14th. As for Harlan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-42 defeat against Lancaster on the 13th.
