Recap: Van Horn Eagles vs. Balmorhea Bears
After a string of four wins, the Van Horn Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Balmorhea, falling 54-21. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Van Horn in their matchups with Balmorhea: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Van Horn still got an impressive performance from Taylor Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Van Horn's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Balmorhea, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Van Horn will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Marfa at 6:00 p.m. As for Balmorhea, they will head out on the road to face off against Big Bend at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
