Volleyball Game Preview: Kennedy Cougars vs. Lancaster Eagles

The Kennedy Cougars will take on the Lancaster Eagles in a tournament on Friday. Lancaster took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kennedy, who comes in off a win.

Kennedy had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt San Fernando on Wednesday. Kennedy put the hurt on San Fernando with a sharp 3-0 win. The game marked the Cougars' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The win didn't come easy: San Fernando scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Lancaster came up short against Harvard-Westlake on Thursday and fell 3-1.

While Lancaster had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 18-25, 25-22.

Lancaster's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Kennedy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Kennedy came up short against Lancaster in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Kennedy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
