Basketball Recap: Xavier Stohl's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Estero over North Fort Myers

Estero lost against North Fort Myers back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Estero Wildcats received a blow as they fell 56-37 to the North Fort Myers Red Knights. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xavier Stohl, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Tetrault, who put up eight points.

Robert Ballesteros continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Fort Myers, going 10 of 14 on his way to 22 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Ballesteros' afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalid Bourne, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 11 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Estero and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for North Fort Myers, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Estero didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-53 loss against Seacrest Country Day on the 2nd. North Fort Myers has also already played their next game, a 72-34 defeat against Wharton on the 2nd.
