Eaton came out on top against Madison on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Eagles never let the Mohawks get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly five runs.

Meredith Pieratt made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Pieratt wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julie Schrimper, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was Schrimper's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Talawanda narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Harrison 4-3.

Like Eaton, Talawanda also got a great game from a two-way player: Kylie Cobb. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Cobb was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paisley Kerby, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Hazel Cheatham was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Talawanda hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harrison struck out seven times.

Talawanda's record now sits at 9-5. As for Eaton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
