Basketball Recap: Pueblo South Colts vs. Pueblo West Cyclones

Pueblo South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 69-39 loss at the hands of the Pueblo West Cyclones. The Colts were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-32.

Several Colts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caeden Herrera, who posted 11 points and five boards. Landen Frison was another key player, putting up eight points.

Pueblo West found their leader in freshman Ezekiel Stump, who went 9-for-17 en route to 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stump has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Stump, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 17 points and three steals.

Pueblo South's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Pueblo West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Pueblo South has already played their next matchup, a 48-44 loss against Pueblo East on the 10th. As for Pueblo West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-39 win against Vista Ridge on the 10th.
