Volleyball Recap: Ridgeline Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Bountiful

Ridgeline faced Bountiful in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Riverhawks fell 3-1 to the Redhawks. The Riverhawks have struggled against the Redhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Ridgeline's offense was headlined by Brynlie Cornia and Brooke Smart, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Lusiana Damuni and her 16 assists. Cornia also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sophie Larsen, each putting up five.

Bountiful can attribute much of their success to McKinely Duryea, who had 12 digs and seven assists.

Ridgeline's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Bountiful, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Ridgeline wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Timpview on the 4th. As for Bountiful, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Orem on the 3rd.
