Basketball Recap: Kansas City Christian School Takes a Loss

Kansas City Christian School lost against Bishop Seabury Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kansas City Christian School Panthers took a 76-58 bruising from the Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Seahawks are ranked 101st).

Bishop Seabury Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Honarvar, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 boards. Honarvar has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 34 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Smith, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.

Kansas City Christian School's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Kansas City Christian School will be playing at home against University Academy Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kansas City Christian School is facing University Academy Charter at the right time seeing as University Academy Charter is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Seabury Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Baldwin likes a good challenge.
