Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hempfield Area). They never let the Woodland Hills Wolverines get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Ian Kovalcik, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colin Polechko, who earned one RBI and two runs.

Hempfield Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hempfield Area's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Woodland Hills, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Hempfield Area will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolverines: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
