Mt. Pleasant came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 69-41 win over the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Fightin' Indians are ranked 791st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Pleasant pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Jacksonville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
