Basketball Game Preview: Mitchell Mustangs vs. Calvary Christian Warriors

The Mitchell Mustangs just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Calvary Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Mitchell is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Sports Leadership & Management just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 75-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian entered their tilt with Wiregrass Ranch on Saturday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top against the Bulls by a score of 80-73.

Calvary Christian found their leader in sophomore Madden Geiger, who posted 33 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Geiger has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Sabec, who earned 13 points.

Calvary Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Mitchell, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.

Mitchell strolled past Calvary Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 71-55. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Calvary Christian's Ace Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards.
