League recap: Davidson Academy's Head delivers best pitching performance from past week

Division II A East/Middle league recap: 4/3/13

Division II A East/Middle's top pitcher this week was Davidson Academy's Laken Head. Over the past week, he had one win and 11 Ks.

League leaders the Bears (4-0 in the league play, 6-4 overall) and Webb (2-0, 7-3) will look to grab hold of first place in the standings this week. Last week, Davidson Academy went 2-0, while the Spartans was 0-0.

The Bears' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 34 hits and ten walks, both of which led the league.

Steven Davis's six RBIs this week put him at the number one spot for the league. For the year, he has racked up eight RBIs, good for first in the league.

The Bears' Luke Allison was locked in this week, and led the league with a .412 average (7-for-17) over that span. His average for the season stands at .387, which ranks second in the league. Allison has accumulated 12 base knocks this year so far.



Davidson Academy's Robbie Young struck out eight Portland hitters en route to a 2-0 victory on March 28. Over his nine innings pitched he allowed zero runs on eight hits.
