Volleyball Recap: Philip Simmons Takes Down Atlantic Collegiate Academy in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Philip Simmons walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The Iron Horses haven't had any issues with the Armada recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Gabby Kakalev paced Philip Simmons' offense, picking up 11 kills. Kakalev got some help from Dani Gehringer and her 20 assists. Finally, Kakalev was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Philip Simmons' victory bumped their record up to 37-5. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten matches and leaves them with a 24-6 record.

Looking ahead, Philip Simmons will challenge Landrum at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Atlantic Collegiate Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
