Volleyball Game Preview: Dunmore Bucks vs. Western Wayne Wildcats

Dunmore is 2-8 against Western Wayne since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bucks will face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dunmore took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Mountain View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bucks won by a set and slipped past the Eagles 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Dunmore took Mountain View into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-10, 16-25, 23-25, 15-9.

Dunmore found their leader in sophomore Elena Piepoli, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, Western Wayne waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Invaders.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-9, 25-16.

Dunmore's victory bumped their record up to 10-4-1. As for Western Wayne, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Dunmore might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Western Wayne in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Bucks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
