Baseball Game Preview: Simsboro Tigers vs. Union Parish Farmers

Simsboro hasn't had much luck against Union Parish recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Simsboro Tigers will host the Union Parish Farmers at 7:00 p.m. Simsboro is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Simsboro challenged Doyline on Thursday. Simsboro took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Doyline.

Simsboro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maximus Lee, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Chris Stevens also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Union Parish took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They put the hurt on Lincoln Prep with a sharp 14-4 victory.

Union Parish got a massive performance out of Terrance Wallace, who scored three runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Braxton Patterson was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Simsboro now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Union Parish, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.

Simsboro came up short against Union Parish in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 6-1. Can Simsboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
