Basketball Game Preview: Gardendale Rockets vs. Clay-Chalkville Cougars

Gardendale hasn't had much luck against Clay-Chalkville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Gardendale Rockets will venture away from home to face off against the Clay-Chalkville Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Gardendale is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Last Tuesday, Gardendale escaped with a win against Pinson Valley by the margin of a single free throw, 49-48.

Meanwhile, Clay-Chalkville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Mountain Brook and fell 55-24. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Gardendale pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Clay-Chalkville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
