Softball Game Preview: Kouts Mustangs & Fillies vs. Valparaiso Vikings

The Kouts Mustangs & Fillies will challenge the Valparaiso Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Kouts will be strutting in after a win while Valparaiso will be coming in after a defeat.

Kouts made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Caston, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs & Fillies blew past the Comets 18-1 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Valparaiso suffered their closest loss since May 8, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Highland by a score of 7-5.

Delilah Kincaid was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Maddie Horka was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Kouts' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Valparaiso, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
