Baseball Recap: Westminster Wolves vs. Thomas Jefferson Spartans        
        
		
            
 Westminster was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They fell  11-8 to the Thomas Jefferson Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Westminster of the  12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in May of 2023.
  Micheal Davidson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Daniel Saminego, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-1.
 Even though they lost, Westminster  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 14  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 On Thomas Jefferson's side,  Curtis Redfearn made a big impact no matter where he played. He  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Redfearn has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Redfearn was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  RBI and a  double.
 In other batting news,  Jesus Flores-Sanchez was  excellent,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was  Aiden Benschneider, who  went 1-for-4 with a  triple and a  run.
 Westminster's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Thomas Jefferson, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
 Westminster will head out on the road to  challenge  Denver West at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Westminster is facing Denver West at the right time seeing as Denver West is stuck on  an  11-game losing streak. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rifle at 4:15  p.m.  on Friday.
