Basketball Recap: Santa Rosa Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Arlo Mischke and Gabe Airoldi

If Santa Rosa was riding high fresh off their 62-19 takedown of Elsie Allen last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Santa Rosa Panthers came up short against the Christopher Cougars on Thursday, falling 60-37. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Cougars are ranked 67th).

Santa Rosa's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gabe Airoldi, who posted 17 points, and Arlo Mischke, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Weston Mohr, who put up five points.

Santa Rosa's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Christopher, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Santa Rosa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-47 win against Terra Linda on the 27th. As for Christopher, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-60 victory against Piner on the 27th.
