Basketball Recap: Echo Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Echo won the last time they faced Nixyaawii Community and things went their way on Friday too. The Echo Cougars strolled past the Nixyaawii Community Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Eagles are ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Echo and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Nixyaawii Community, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Echo will venture away from home to take on Cove at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Nixyaawii Community has already played their next contest (against Griswold), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
