Basketball Recap: Burns Broncs vs. Wheatland Bulldogs
Burns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss. They had to suffer through a 51-24 loss at the hands of the Wheatland Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-29 back in January.
Josie Barrett was Burns' leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Lily Anderson was her usual excellent self, shooting 48% from the field to rack up 23 points and five rebounds for Wheatland. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Wheatland's points. Karley Adams also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Wheatland, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.
Burns wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-26 loss against Douglas on the 6th. As for Wheatland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-38 win against Rawlins on the 6th.
