Softball Recap: Hebron Drops Season-High Score on Lewisville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hebron). They put the hurt on the Lewisville Farmers with a sharp 12-2 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Hawks have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kate Buesing spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alyssa Summers was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI. Allie Lovett was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Hebron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Hebron has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. Lewisville's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13-1.

Coming up, Hebron will face off against Braswell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Braswell has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.86 runs per game on average), something Hebron will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lewisville, they will host Guyer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
